My Short Bio
Mr. Black specializes in mathematics and oceanography, having earned a B.S. in Mathematics from Oregon State University and a M.A. in Mathematics as well as a M.S. in Marine Science from the University of California at Santa Barbara. His project involvements have included time-series analysis, geophysical fluid dynamics, ocean-optics, remote sensing analysis, and atmospheric science. His master’s thesis focused on upper-ocean physical and biological responses to open ocean hurricanes.
Since graduating Mr. Black has worked in an industrial manufacturing setting as a Production Control Scheduler for Fox Factory Inc. and as a Mathematics instructor at Oregon Coast Community College. He currently works at Advanced Research Corp. in Newport Oregon. He work involves designing and implementing Fisher Information Systems for commercial fisheries.
